O Lord, God of my salvation,
I cry to You in the night and in the day;
for people have cast me aside
and they have despised my name.
False witnesses have risen against me;
they spoke lies as though they were truth,
and they trampled my honor
like dust beneath their feet.
My heart trembled under their words,
and my soul was distressed within me;
yet I did not open my mouth,
for You are my Defender.
They judged without knowledge,
and condemned without understanding;
but You, Lord, see what is hidden
and test the heart and the mind.
You held me when I could not stand,
and carried me when my strength was broken;
Your hand did not let me go
in the hour of my humiliation.
Judge me, Lord, according to Your truth,
and let the lie be put to shame;
let light rise upon my path
like the morning after the night.
For Your righteousness does not waver,
and Your judgments are pure and just;
blessed is he who waits upon You
and not upon the voice of men.
I will praise Your Name in the assembly,
for You have not rejected me;
when people made me fall,
You lifted me up.
