It amazes me how someone can drop you out
of their life like you never existed,
as if the memories meant nothing,
as if the conversations evaporated,
as if the moments you held sacred
were disposable to them.
You shared everything with them
your fears, your dreams,
your laughter, your wounds,
your unfiltered truth.
You let them see the parts of you
you never show the world,
believing that intimacy meant safety,
believing that honesty meant loyalty.
But some people walk away
as if connection is a costume
they can take off when it no longer
benefits them.
They detach without explanation,
erase without hesitation,
forget without grieving.
And you’re left holding the weight
of a bond they treated like a burden.
But their ability to leave
says nothing about your worth
it only reveals the emptiness
they carry inside.
People who can discard others so easily
were never capable of loving deeply.
Their exit is not your loss
it is their truth finally showing.
Scripture
“The Lord will not abandon His people,
nor will He forsake His inheritance.”
Psalm 94:14
Message
Being forgotten by someone you valued
does not diminish your value.
Some departures are protection,
not rejection.
Your heart will be held again
by someone who knows how to stay.
