The old me was too afraid of losing people.
Too afraid of being abandoned,
too afraid of being misunderstood,
too afraid of being the one left standing
in the silence after someone walked away.
I held on to people who had already let go,
I fought for connections that were draining me,
I apologized for things that weren’t my fault,
and I shrank myself just to keep the peace.
I thought losing people meant losing pieces of myself,
so I clung to relationships that were breaking me
more than they were building me.
But the new me doesn’t care anymore.
Not because I’m cold,
not because I’m bitter,
but because I finally understand
that anyone who can walk away
was never meant to stay.
I no longer chase,
I no longer beg,
I no longer sacrifice my peace
to keep a place in someone else’s life.
The new me knows that real love stays,
real loyalty shows up,
and real connection doesn’t require
losing myself to keep someone else.
Letting go isn’t weakness
it’s wisdom.
And choosing myself
is the strongest thing I’ve ever done.
Scripture
“God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.”
Psalm 46:5
Message
You are not losing people
you are losing the fear of being alone.
And that is where your strength
finally begins to grow.
