Behold, the Lamb of God,
who takes away the sin of the world;
gentle and without blemish,
sent out of love.
He did not open His mouth
when He was oppressed and judged;
like a lamb before its shearers
He was silent.
The punishment that brought us peace
was upon Him;
and through His wounds
healing has come.
People rejected and despised Him,
but God exalted Him;
He conquered death
and brought forth life.
His blood speaks better things
than the blood of Abel;
it does not cry for vengeance,
but for grace.
Through Him light came into darkness,
and hope into a lost world;
no one comes to the Father
except through Him.
The Lamb is worthy
to receive praise and honor;
for He purchased
with His own life. Blessed are those
who put their trust in the Lamb;
for their names are written
in the book of life.
